Principles for Second Chair Leadership

It's not easy being a "second chair leader." Regardless of title or tenure in your role, you may wrestle with being pulled in too many directions, clarifying responsibilities, or helping your organization excel. This workshop will offer practical ideas and encouragement for those who serve in a variety of positions.

• The definition of "second chair leader"
• The value of serving in the second chair
• The unique challenges every second chair faces
• How to meet the challenges that result in becoming more effective
• Ways to strengthen their relationships with the "first chair"

Dr. Judy Stamey, Certification Director at the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA), Southwestern Certification Center in Fort Worth, Texas, will be leading the workshop. Dr. Stamey recommends reading the book Leading from the Second Chair by Mike Bonem and Roger Patterson which will better prepare you for the workshop.

Participants will receive two Continuing Education Units which can be used for recertification in church administration.

Wednesday     9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Thursday         8:30 a.m. -  5:00 p.m.

Friday             8:30 a.m.  -  11:30 a.m.

Registration fee includes: Learning experience, facility use, single room lodging (except commuters), meals, and refreshments.
